It depends on who you ask: Google searches say Buddy the Unicorn, TikTok says Furby and HUNTR/X, and what actually sells is the classics. Here is each source on its own, then what they add up to.
What this is, and isn't
This is an all-ages roundup of public signals, not a teen ranking: the TikTok pages we read were logged out, so they show no view counts or rankings. Buddy the Unicorn, NeeDoh, Nikki and Furby have no single official product we could confirm, so they get a mention but no card. A HUNTR/X kids version was reported at $49.99, but we did not see it on a store page, so only the adult costumes are carded.
TikTok: DIY and a little weird
On 10/26 the #halloweencostume2026 page, read logged out, showed captions about Furby, vampires, Rapunzel, a bedbug costume, couples costumes, last-minute DIY and "girly & unique" ideas. The pattern is homemade and specific rather than one store-bought look.
Google: punchline costumes
Google's Frightgeist 2026 (published 10/14, ranked by search jump) has Buddy the Unicorn at No. 1, then NeeDoh, Nikki, Agamemnon, Lily Love Braids, Oliver Tree, Verity, Carl, Disco Scooby-Doo and Hazel Hook. For kids, No. 1 is Dolly Parton, followed by Ella Langley, Dumpling and Shakira. Most of the adult list is a horror or meme reference with a punchline.
Depop and sales: the classics still win
On Depop, "halloween costume" was the top trending search on 10/26 with about 313K results (a count of listings, not a rise). The sales side, per National Retail Federation reporting, is classic: among adult costumes, witch (4.8M people) and vampire (4.2M) lead. Search buzz is not the same as what people buy.
The one that shows up in most places: HUNTR/X
HUNTR/X is our pick for the most overlap: Spirit Halloween lists it as a trend, it is all over TikTok, trios and couples want matching looks, and the adult costumes are on sale now. That is not the same as No. 1 in searches (Buddy the Unicorn) or in sales (the classics). On Spirit Halloween's own pages on 10/26, Rumi was ready to ship in Adult S–2X, Mira said only 2 left, and Zoey was sold out. All three are online only at $69.99, and wigs are sold separately. Halloween is Saturday 10/31, so order this week.

What the signals say
Read this as a pattern, not a verdict. Search favors horror and meme punchlines, TikTok favors DIY and quirky, group and couple looks drive HUNTR/X, and sales favor the classics. Spirit Halloween's page also showed a free-shipping code, TREAT26 ($35+, through 10/30), when we looked.

We read each source once on 10/26: Google's published list, a logged-out TikTok hashtag page, Depop's trending searches, and Spirit Halloween's own product pages for price and stock. Stock changes daily, so check the date on each item page.
